Amigos Library Services is putting together an online conference called
'Going Green @ Your Library'. They are looking for online presenters
from the school library community to participate.
In addition, they are offering to teach people how to present online if
they've never done so.
Here are some more specifics about the conference and the speaking
opportunity:
When: Wednesday, October 7, 2009; 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. central time
Where: Online @ http://greenlibs.amigos.org
Indeed, green is no longer just an idea -- it is a revolution.
Companies, institutions, and individuals are looking for ways to reduce
their footprint on the ecosystem.
How to become green is a critical question for libraries. What is the
impact of the green movement on the library?
Can libraries sustain going green? If so, what are practical steps and
ideas for libraries to follow?
We invite our colleagues to take part in our online conference by
submitting a proposal for a presentation on one of the following
topics:
- Reduce, reuse, recycle -- programs your library/archive has
instituted
- Social awareness or policy initiatives taken by your library
- Green IT
- Going green in reference, cataloging, or administration or . . .
- Low cost/no cost possibilities -- practical solutions
- Architecture for new buildings and renovations
- Building maintenance
Submit your proposals using the “Call for Proposals” form at
http://greenlibs.amigos.org.
